Samir Soni REVEALS Not Getting Work Post Baghban Release
In a latest interaction with Ujjawal Trivedi, Samir Soni recalled the time from 2003, when Baghban released. He recalled that before doing Baghban, he was also seen in the filmm “Dance Like A Man”, which won a National Film Award but following that win, he wasn’t getting any work offers. When he got the offer of Baghban and received a narration from director Ravi Chopra, he wondered why he was being offered a villain’s role. He wondered that he came to be an actor, but people are making him villain, before even his career takes a start. He remarked, “I thought Sir, what is this role that you are giving me? Chaar nikamme ladke. Unme se koi bhi nikamma ladka. Aisa karta kaun hai? Aur main toh hero banne aaya hu. Aap log zabardasti mereko villain bana rahe ho. Kyu kar rhe ho mere sath aisa?“
As he went back home, Samir felt that despite doing a big movie, Samir Soni did not get any national awards, nor did any big opportunities knock his door. Thus, he immediately made a call to the director Ravi Chopra, and asked to assign him the character that had the maximum roles with Amitabh Bachchan. However, Samir exclusively informed that despite gaining fame to Amitabh Bachchan’s son from Baghban, he was offered nothing for the next three months. There were no projects brought to him. This made him so stressed that he used to go to the beach, and cry for hours. The no-offer phase forced him to think if his decision went wrong to join the industry.
When Samir Used To Cry At The Beach
He remarked, “I would ask god what do you want? I have left everything. If you don’t want to make me a hero, don’t do it. Either you tell me I can’t act. Now that I have compromised that I can be a villain, I am not getting any work. Now what do I do?” After a long-short struggling phase, Samir was finally offered Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. Post this, he began to reach a milestone in his career with multiple projects in hand.
