After two days of bizarre speculations and several others opening up, now Govinda’s lawyer has come forward to clear the air about the actor’s relationship with wife Sunita, bringing another twist to the swirling speculations. Addressing the divorce widespread divorce rumours, lawyer Lalit Bindal revealed that Sunita had indeed filed for divorce with husband Govinda around six months ago. However, the couple later worked things out and are now together.
‘No Divorce Is Happening,’ Says Lawyer
Speaking to India Today, lawyer Bindal who is also close family friend of actor Govinda, dismissed claims that the couple is separating. He stated, “Yes, Sunita Ahuja had filed for divorce six months ago due to some misunderstandings. But they have resolved their differences and are together again.”

According to lawyer Bindal, following filing of divorce Govinda and Sunita traveled to Nepal during New Year and even performed a puja at the Pashupati Nath Mandir together. “Everything is fine between them now. These things happen in relationships, but they are doing well and will always be together,” he added.
There have been reports that Govinda and Sunita live in separate houses. Lawyer Bindal explained that the actor bought a bungalow after becoming an MP which is just across from their marital home. “He sometimes has meetings there or stays overnight, but they live together,” he clarified. The lawyer also addressed certain remarks made by Sunita in public which were misinterpreted. “For instance, when she said, ‘Mujhe Govinda jaisa pati nahi chaiye’ (I don’t want Govinda as my husband in my next birth), she also mentioned she would want a son like him. Unfortunately, people focus only on the negative,” Bindal said.
