On Tuesday morning, social media was abuzz with shocking news claiming that Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja were heading for a divorce after 37 years of marriage. The speculation started from a Reddit post and was further amplified by a Zoom report. While the original post was later deleted, the rumours refused to die down leaving fans confused and concerned.
Despite these posts and Zoom report was later deleted, the chatter continued online, raising speculations and now Govinda’s nephew Krushna Abhishek finally addressed the claims. As per the reports in Hindustan Times, he dismissed the reports outright saying, “This is not possible. They won’t divorce.” Not only him, also his wife Kashmera Shah weighed in while speaking to News18 Showsha, calling the rumours “horrible” and stating, “I don’t know anything about their life. But personally, I think it’s a horrible rumour.”
First one to react on these “baseless” rumours was Aarti SIngh, Govinda’s niece who also refuted the claims, calling it as “baseless gossip.” She told News18, “I am honestly not in Mumbai right now, so I haven’t got in touch with anybody. But let me tell you something, this is false news. These are just speculations because their bond is so strong. They have built a strong and loving relationship over the years, so how can they get divorced?” She further urged people to stop spreading misinformation.
Reports suggested that Govinda and Sunita were facing ongoing disagreements due to lifestyle differences, which allegedly led to frequent arguments. Sunita’s recent interviews also fueled the speculation, as she revealed that they were living in separate houses. On Valentine’s Day, when spotted with her son Yash Vardhan she cheekily told the paparazzi, “Hello, happy Valentine. Sir apne Valentine ke sath hai. Gadbad mat samjhna. Wo apne kaam se bohot pyaar karte hai na, to kaam unka valentine hai.”
For those unaware, Govinda and Sunita met during their younger years and dated for three years before tying the knot in 1987. Initially, they kept their marriage a secret to protect Govinda’s acting career. While speculations continue, one thing remains clear – until Govinda and Sunita themselves confirm anything, divorce rumours remain just that: rumours.
