When one of Bollywood’s most iconic producer-director duos Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt decided to part ways, it sent shockwaves across the film industry. The brothers who had together delivered several unforgettable films under their banner for decades, eventually grew apart professionally and personally. That rift deepened over time, even leading to a heartbreaking moment when Mukesh Bhatt wasn’t invited to Alia Bhatt’s wedding with Ranbir Kapoor in April 2021.
During the latest exclusive chat with Lehren, the Vishesh Films producer Mukesh Bhatt and Alia Bhatt’s uncle, finally opened up about how he truly felt about the entire episode. “Yes, I’ll be honest. I’ll be a hypocrite, agar aap bolengi I didn’t feel bad.. of course, I felt bad,” he admitted. The veteran producer further shared, “I love Alia a lot. I’m very attached to her, also Shaheen, Sunny. Toh jab Alia ki shaadi hui, i felt, ‘Meri bacchi ki shaadi hai’ and I was very much wanting to be there”.
Getting visibly emotional, Mukesh Bhatt further recalled the time he heard the news of niece Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy, Mukesh added, “When I found out she was pregnant and later had a baby, meri aankhein taras gayi uske bacche ko dekhne ke liye.” He went on to express his deep affection for children, saying he simply loves being around them, no matter whose they are.
