Roadies: Raghu Ram Reveals Being Labeled As A ‘Bully’, Getting Into Unnecessary Fights With Boys Due To Roadies And Adds

Raghu Ram recalled how the intense and confrontational style that became his signature on the show led to him being labeled as a 'bully' by people around him.

Raghu Ram is a well-known Indian television producer and personality. He gained prominence as one of the twin brothers who co-hosted the popular reality show MTV Roadies. Alongside his brother Rajiv Lakshman, he became known as the Roadies duo. Raghu and Rajiv played a significant role in making MTV Roadies one of the most popular youth-based reality shows in India. Despite their success, Raghu often faced criticism for his onscreen persona, being labelled as a ‘bullies’. He has been candid about how this perception has affected his public image.

He recalled how the intense and confrontational style that became his signature on the show led to him being labeled as a ‘bully’ by people around him. Talking about this issue on Cyrus Boracha’s podcast, Cyrus Says, he shared, “I have an issue with the fact that people call us bullies, but what we were doing was standing up to bullies. That’s how I see it; that’s what my intention was. If I saw someone being sexist, racist, or really mean to a group of people, I would take them on. That was me standing up to a bully.”

He further added that wherever he went, people recognized him as the Roadies guy. For about 5-6 years, he needed security due to some boys physically attacking him. He also faced fights and objects being thrown at him. Some girls he met had unusual desires and would treat him as the “Roadies guy,” asking him to engage in aggressive behavior towards them. Raghu expressed these experiences during the conversation.
