When ‘Pavitra Rishta’ Fame Ankita Lokhande Had To Stay On The Sets For 3 Months: ‘We Didn’t Even Have Fresh Undergarments’

Her Journey To Stardom Was Marked By Immense Dedication And Hard Work

Ankita Lokhande, the renowned actress who achieved widespread recognition after starring in the daily soap ‘Pavitra Rishta,’ became a beloved figure among her fans. Yet, the path to fame was far from effortless. There were occasions when Ankita found herself spending three consecutive months on the show’s sets, with no respite at home.

During an interview with TV Times, Ankita shared, “I have never worked as hard in my life as I did for ‘Pavitra Rishta.’ I didn’t go home for three months; I used to shoot day and night. And this is a true story: there was a men’s bathroom, and I used to take a bath there. They had kept the bathroom empty for me. My hairdresser would press my clothes. Many times, we didn’t even have fresh undergarments, so we would wash and iron the ones we had.”

She continued, “But it was worth it. I may not have worked for 30 hours straight, but I consistently worked on the sets of ‘Pavitra Rishta’ for 148 hours. So that’s my record timing.”

Ankita further added, “So it feels good; I have a story to tell people that I’ve done hard work. My mom also stayed there with me. We used to get some time, but it was like you could sleep and wake up on the sets because they didn’t allow me to go home due to back-to-back scenes. In television, women used to run the show, and I was in every scene.”

Apart from her successful television career, the talented actress has made significant strides in the film industry, starring in productions like Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi,’ ‘Baaghi 3,’ ‘Torbaaz’  and many more. She has ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ in her list of upcoming projects, alongside Randeep Hooda.
