The popular reality show “Bigg Boss” is set to return with its third season of the OTT version, but this time, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will not be reprising his role as the host. Yesterday, the makers announced the third season of the show and dropped a major hint revealing that the 3rd season of the reality show will be hosted by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor who will replace Salman Khan this year.
However, the fans have been curious about what led the OG host, Salman Khan to opt out of hosting the show. Well, as per a Hindustan Times report, it is now believed that Salman Khan quit his job as the host for Bigg Boss OTT 3 since he had prior work commitments which demanded his attention and so the actor decided to skip the 3rd season of the show.
A source revealed to the portal, that currently Salman Khan is focused and is preparing for his upcoming film, Sikandar, which will be directed by AR Murugadoss. This happens to be one of the reasons why the actor decided to not take on the hosting duties for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT.
The insider further disclosed that Salman is slated to commence shooting for “Sikandar” in June, which led to his decision to step away from “Bigg Boss OTT.” Besides his film commitment, Salman also considered the potential repetition factor for the audience, given his ongoing hosting role on the television version of the reality show.
While it hasn’t been officially announced however the source confirmed that Bigg Boss OTT 3 will indeed be hosted by Anil Kapoor. According to the source, Anil is enthusiastic about assuming the hosting duties and bringing his unique style to the show. The switch in hosts also aligns with the trend of introducing a new host for each season.
