The year has been started with an amazing trailer launch which kept audiences engaged till the end, “Killer Soup”. The trailer of this Netflix web series was released on January 3, giving audiences the most thrilling experience at the year’s start. The trailer shows a crime chemistry between Manoj Bajpayee playing Umesh and Konkona Sen Sharma playing Swati. And the one more surprising element is the double role of Manoj Bajpayee. The trailer also features Sayaji Shinde and Nassar in prominent roles.
This series by Abhishek Chaubey is a crime with comedy. The trailer gives a glimpse of this series in the most humorous way. It starts with an opening frame of hospitalized Manoj Bajpayee singing “Tu Hi Re”. Someone tries to hide a dead body in the trailer. It also focuses on Manoj and Konkona’s love story. It also has little violence. And audiences’ curiosity gets at its peak during the investigation of the entire crime saga.
The audience will get to see Konkona as a completely new character in Killer Soup. We have seen her through many different characters from movies like “Wake Up Sid”, “Mumbai Diaries”, “Lipstick Under My Brukha” etc. But this role of Swati has light and dark shade. Talking about her role with ANI, she said, “Stepping into Swathi Shetty’s shoes was a unique experience for me as the character has depth, darkness and packs a lot of punch. With hints of suspense peppered through the series, it makes you wonder, ‘Will she or won’t she get caught and will the soup boil over?’” She also said that she is eagerly waiting for the audience’s feedback.
Manoj Bajpayee said, “For the first time in my career, I will be playing a double role, both starkly different from each other. I trusted Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial prowess and Netflix as collaborators.”
The series will release on January 11 sharing a delicious recipe of “Killer Soup.”
