Heeramandi Release Date: Know When & Where To Watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Web Series

Renowned Hindi film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, known for his artistic prowess in cinema, is now expanding his creative horizons into the world of OTT platforms. His upcoming web series, titled ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,’ has been consistently creating excitement since its announcement.

The highly anticipated web series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” directed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is set to premiere on Netflix on May 1.

The release date of the show was revealed during a drone light show event at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in South Mumbai. A glimpse into the world of “Heeramandi,” which signifies Bhansali’s first venture into digital content, was showcased through drone formations in the sky.

The event saw the presence of the show’s leading cast members, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh, along with Prerna Singh, CEO of Bhansali Productions, and Tanya Bami, Director of Series at Netflix India.

Aditi Rao Hydari, who is also part of the cast of “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” was notably absent from the event due to her recent wedding to long-time partner, actor Siddharth. The series, conceptualized by Moin Beg, is helmed and produced by Bhansali himself.

Described as an epic tale encompassing themes of love, power, revenge, and freedom, the series delves into the cultural intricacies of Heeramandi, an enchanting district, through the narratives of courtesans and their patrons against the backdrop of the tumultuous Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s.
