Logan Paul, renowned for his YouTube presence and WWE persona, recently made headlines by revealing that he left the theater midway through Christopher Nolan’s 3-hour-long film, Oppenheimer. During an episode of the Impulsive podcast, he openly discussed his experience, shedding light on his reasons for departing the screening.
In response to a question about whether he left Oppenheimer after 90 minutes, Paul affirmed, “I didn’t know what they were trying to do. Everyone’s just talking. It’s just an hour and a half, 90 minutes of talking, just talking talking. It’s all an exposition. Nothing happened.”
Interestingly, Paul admitted that he also walked out of Nolan’s 2014 space film, Interstellar, a mere 18 minutes into the movie. However, upon revisiting it later, Interstellar managed to secure a spot among his top three favorite films.
Despite Paul’s candid critique, Oppenheimer has managed to generate substantial success at the box office. According to Forbes, the film’s global earnings have reached a staggering $717.8 million. This includes $285.2 million from the US and a remarkable $432.6 million from the rest of the world.
Notably, Oppenheimer’s triumph has earned it the distinction of being the sole R-rated film among the top 10 highest-grossing movies of the year. The previous record-holder was last year’s action-packed John Wick: Chapter 4, starring Keanu Reeves.
Oppenheimer’s success story had competition from Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, which has achieved the impressive milestone of crossing the $1 billion mark worldwide. Greta Gerwig’s achievement marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the first solo female filmmaker to attain this remarkable feat.
The film features a star-studded cast, with Margot Robbie embodying the iconic Barbie and Ryan Gosling portraying Ken. The remarkable performances were rewarded with substantial paychecks of $12.5 million each, underscoring the film’s significant investment in top-tier talent.
