The Nun II Box Office Collection: Horror Film Beats “The Equalizer 3”

The Nun II: The much-anticipated and much-awaited sequel of the horror film 2018 film “The Nun” is out now. Directed by Michael Chaves, The Nun II was released in the theatres on 7th September. And as per the latest trade reports, the film has now topped the box office charts this week and has defeated “The Equalizer 3”.

As per ComScore, The Nun 2 grossed $32.6 million domestically and earned $53.8 million internationally, taking the total to $85.3 million. The Nun 2 defeated, Denzel Washington’s Equalizer 3 which scored the second place at the box office on its second weekend. The Equalizer 3 grossed $12.1 million on its second weekend, taking the domestic total to $61.9 million and its worldwide total to $107 million.

The Nun II opened up to positive reviews from the netizens and audience. A segment of netizens shared their reactions on Twitter, many netizens called the sequel “scarier” and much more intense than the prequel of the film.

The Nun is based on a story of a demon named, “Valak” a nun. The backdrop of the film was set on a boarding school in France, as sister Irene investigates the history about the demon “Valak”. The sequel sees the second encounter of sister Irene with Valak “once again”. The negative power, Nun returns with much force and power in the sequel as it faces off with her old enemy, sister Irene.
