Singer Selena Gomez had to delete one of her Instagram posts after violating a SAG-AFTRA rule. She had shared a post related to her upcoming web series “Only Murders in the Building,” set to premiere on Hulu, featuring a black and white photo from the set.
Taking to Instagram, Selena posted a black and white selfie capturing herself on the set of “Only Murders in the Building,” with the caption, “Missing and wanting @onlymurdershulu.” Shortly after, several users pointed out that she had violated the conditions outlined by SAG-AFTRA during their ongoing strike, which restricts actors from promoting ongoing projects online.
Selena is taking on a role in Season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building,” which premiered on August 8, 2023. The series follows three strangers, played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena, who share a fascination for true crime podcasts. As they delve into investigating mysterious deaths within their upscale Upper West Side apartment complex. Simultaneously, they launch their own podcast centered around these cases. The season finale is scheduled for October 3.
A significant development arises from the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, marking the first time in over 60 years that actors and writers have undertaken a joint strike. Initiated on July 13 at midnight, the strike materialized after negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) faltered. The strike’s primary objectives are equitable compensation, improved benefits, and enhanced protection for members in the future.
