What! Jocelyn And Alec Wildenstein Ate Lion’s Heart On Their First Date

How awful is it to hear about eating a lion’s heart? But it really happened. Jocelyn and Alec Wildenstein killed a lion and ate its heart on their first date. The 82-year-old socialite, who was married to Wildenstein due to her extensive cosmetic surgery, first met her late ex-husband while she was on Safari in Africa.

He was living at his family’s Ol Jogi farm, north of Nairobi, and she recalled the unconventional beginnings of their romance, acknowledging the latter’s ritual after the killing gave them a “certain bond”.

Jocelyn Wildensen told Times Magazine that he had set up the ambush to kill this particular lion, which had been killing local antelope.

She further explained that she and Alec then cut out the lion’s heart and ate some before daubing the creatures blood on their necks.

Jocelyn Wildenstein said about the rituals that you must eat a part of the heart of your game. It’s legend. Probably to take the power of the lion, it’s honouring the lion.  It’s respect for the lion. It formed a certain bond right away. And later on, in the afternoon, he says, ‘Why don’t we go for a ride on a motorcycle to go to “the top of the world”?’ It’s a mountain on the ranch where you can see the entire property. And you see Mount Kenya with its snow. And it was the first timid kiss.”

A year after Alec proposed, the couple eloped to Africa and had their daughter Diane in August 1979, swiftly followed by Alec Jr. in July 1980.
