Israeli actor Gal Gadot has come under fire for reportedly organizing a screening of graphic footage collected from Israel following the October 7 Hamas attack. The event is set to take place in the presence of famous Hollywood figures, with the first screening scheduled in Los Angeles.
The screening is expected to display the full 47 minutes of uncensored footage titled “Bearing Witness to the October 7th Massacre.” This footage, reportedly collected by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), was already shown to UK journalists in London last week.
The Jewish Chronicle reported that approximately 120 prominent Hollywood figures have been invited to the initial screening organized by Gal Gadot, with potential future screenings according to YNet. Attendees are strictly prohibited from filming or using their phones during the event.
Oscar-winning director Guy Nattiv is believed to have led efforts to bring the film to the United States, acknowledging the assistance of Gal Gadot and her husband, Yaron Varsano, in making this screening possible, as reported by Newsweek. However, the date of the screening and the guest list have not been disclosed.
The October 7 attack saw Hamas militants infiltrate Israeli towns and launch missiles, resulting in the reported deaths of hundreds of innocent people. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the attack as “murderous” in a televised address at the time.
The attack on a music festival in Israel, near Kibbutz Re’im close to Gaza, was one of the most devastating incidents, where at least 260 people were killed, and many others were abducted. The festival turned into chaos as terrorists attacked the site, shooting people as they attempted to escape.
