Here’s Everything To Know About Bridgerton Inspired Dating Series ‘The Courtship’

The Courtship is scheduled to release on March 6 on NBC and then move to Peacock.

Bridgerton fans are eagerly waiting for the second season of the Netflix hit series. However, they are delighted with a new dating series inspired by the show which will debut next month, with a brand new name. NBC has recently announced that their dating series which was previously titled Pride & Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance, is now named The Courtship.

The Courtship Plot
As viewers initially learned last July that the upcoming show The Courtship follows a woman who is ‘looking for her duke’ and will subsequently embark upon ‘the ultimate social experiment in romance’ to do so. However, taking a page from Netflix’s Bridgerton season 1, The Courtship will center around a group of ‘eligible hopeful suitors’ who will be transported to a Regency-style England as they compete ‘to win the heart of our heroine, and her court.’

Meanwhile, the official press release of Peacock reads, “Housed in a castle on the countryside, set on a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills, the heroine and suitors will experience that with which dreams are made.” The heroine and her suitors will “be immersed in a time-traveling quest for love” as they participate in activities including carriage rides, boat rides, archery, and crafting handwritten letters for communication.

Although, at the end of the competition, the leading lady and her contenders will discover if this experience will bring them ‘True love.’ While the show initially borrowed part of its name from author Jane Austen’s Regency-era novel, Pride & Prejudice, its premise is still similar to that of Bridgerton.

When And Where To Watch
The Courtship is scheduled to release on March 6 on NBC. The show will stream on Peacock the day after its NBC telecast and continue to air weekly. The show was originally announced as a Peacock series but now it will debut on NBC and then move to Peacock. The show has an original format that was developed and produced by Endemol Shine North America.
