“Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor Richard Lewis is no more. The 76-year-old beloved entertainer died Tuesday night at his home in Los Angeles due to a heart attack. His demise was affirmed by his marketing specialist, Jeff Abraham, who said, “His wife, Joyce Lapinslu, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship, and support and asks for privacy at this time.” Lewis was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, a brain disorder.
Lewis started his profession in his mid 20s, acting in New York clubs. I’m Doomed, I’m In Pain, I’m Exhausted are some of his television works. Apart from Curb Your Enthusiasm, he portrayed the fictional character of himself in the movie “Diary of a Young Comic”. Later he appeared in movies like “Once Upon a Crime”, “That’s Adequate”, “Game Day”, and more.
Larry David, the dearest friend and co-actor of Lewis, spoke about his departed friend, “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital, and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me. He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him.”
HBO’s spokesperson expressed their condolences for this actor: “We are heartbroken to learn that Richard Lewis has passed away. His comedic brilliance, wit, and talent were unmatched. Richard will always be a cherished member of the HBO and Curb Your Enthusiasm families. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all the fans who could count on Richard to brighten their days with laughter.”
