Carlito’s Way Actor Richard Foronjy Passes Away At 86

The late American actor has appeared in several TV shows such as Who's The Boss, Murphy's Law, Silver Spoons & The Jeffersons.

Richard Foronjy, a veteran character actor, has passed away at the age of 86. According to Variety, Richard left heavenly abode last week. He was a prisoner after growing up in a world of gangsters and going on to become an actor in films like Carlito’s Way, Prince of the City and Midnight Run.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Foronjy had his first minor role as Corsaro in the 1973 autobiographical crime thriller Serpico, which starred Al Pacino as a whistleblower whose actions resulted in a departmental investigation by the Knapp Commission.

He co-starred with Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin in the comedy-action movie Midnight Run (1988), playing mobster Tony Darvo. In 1993’s crime drama Carlito’s Way, which featured Sean Penn and Al Pacino, Richard portrayed the character of mobster Peter Amadesso.

The late American actor has appeared in several TV shows, such as Who’s The Boss, Murphy’s Law, Silver Spoons, The Jeffersons & hit classics like Once Upon a Time in America, Ghostbusters II, Prince of the City & many more.

Richard Foronjy is survived by his spouse Wendy Odell Chiaro, children Charles Foronjy, Susan Argentina, Christine Argentina and Richard 17 grandchildren. The family also includes his three brothers: Charles, Frank and William.
