Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed a near-death encounter he faced during his recent heart surgery in a YouTube video. The actor shared, “I remember when I had my open-heart surgery, the third one, just a few years ago, right before we started ‘Terminator 6.'”
“I was really freaking out. I woke up, and suddenly the doctors were in front of me, saying, ‘I’m so sorry, but it was unlike what we planned.'”
Arnold explained that what was supposed to be a routine procedure took a dangerous turn when his medical team made an inadvertent mistake, puncturing his heart wall. Due to internal bleeding, emergency measures had to be taken to save his life, leading to an unexpected and complicated situation.
In the face of this crisis, Arnold emphasized the importance of not losing hope during difficult times. He stated, “The bottom line is, you cannot roll the clock back. It was a disaster. I was in the middle of a disaster. So now, how do I get out of it? You have to shift gears, collect yourself, and say, ‘Okay, what I need to do now is get out of this hospital.'”
Arnold shared that he followed his medical team’s advice and began exercising despite the challenges. He explained, “I looked like an idiot waddling around in the hallways, but the bottom line was I was getting going because the doctors said you have to exercise your lungs because if you get pneumonia you can die.”
With unwavering determination, Arnold Schwarzenegger slowly recuperated at home and prepared to start filming ‘Terminator: Dark Fate.’ He said, “I wanted to get really going with the exercise, get out of the hospital as quickly as possible, and then get going with the training again. I had to be in shape, I had to move around, run around, lift things up, do the fight scenes.”
