At a recent press conference, actor Sunny Deol revealed that he had to convince his father and brother that he wasn’t drunk the day Gadar 2 was released in theatres. Sunny revealed that he was mixed with emotions and was crying and laughing at the same time, which is why he had to clarify to his family that he wasn’t under the influence of alcohol.
At the Gadar 2 press conference, Sunny Deol said, “Mai bahut stressed chal raha tha..over a period of time. Har aadmi stressed hota hai, kon nahi hota…kyunki har aadmi mehnat kar raha hai. Aur main apni life me sacchai ka raasta leke chala hoon, aur vo sabse kathin raasta hota hai kyunki usme aap akele hote ho, par usme jab jeet hoti hai to sabse meethi hoti hai. Vo fal aapko accha lagta hai.” (I was very stressed over a period of time. Every person gets stressed, who doesn’t? Because every person is working hard. And I have always chosen the path of truth and it is the most difficult path because you are alone there. But when you win on that path, it’s victory tastes the sweetest. You like the result of it.)
He added, “Jab ye film lagi, us waqt mujhe aise laga ki rabb mere me aa gaya. Mai puri shaam roy ja rha tha, hase ja rha tha. Aur mai papa ko bhi mila aur maine kaha, ‘Maine daaru nahi pi hai.’ Maine bhai se bhi kaha, ‘Maine daaru nahi pi. Mai khush hoon. Mai pagal ho gaya. Mai kya kru’.” (When the film was released, I felt like that the God has entered within me. The entire evening, I was crying and laughing. I even met Papa and had to tell him that I wasn’t drunk. I even told my brother, ‘I’m not drunk. I am just too happy. What should I do?’)

Gadar 2 is doing wonders at the box office. Shows are going housefull in single screens and multiplexes. In 7 days, the film has earned Rs 284 crore at the Indian box office.
