Amitabh Bachchan has been hosting the popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati for quite a few years. During this time, he has met contestants who have questioned him about his personal and professional life, and even requested him to dance or deliver dialogues. However, in one particular episode, a contestant asked Big B whether food is cooked in his house and if he repeats his clothes.
Pinky Jawarani took the hot seat, and she surprised Bachchan by asking if any food is prepared in his house. This left Bachchan puzzled. She inquired, “Ghar mein aapke khana banate hain? (Is food cooked in your house?)” To which Big B replied, “Haan bilkul, kyu nahi (Yes, of course, why not).”
She then proceeded to ask him if he ever repeats his clothes. As a fan, she noticed Bachchan wearing different clothes all the time. Pinky asked, “Sir, dhulte hain aapke ghar mein kapde? (Sir, are clothes washed in your house)?” And Bachchan responded, “Aur kya? Hum toh khud dhote hain apne kapde (Of course. I wash my clothes by myself).”
Amitabh then playfully remarked, “This is very unfair. You have drawn a curtain – that you are different and we are different,” which left Pinky laughing. He continued, “Hum log kapde nahi dhote hain, pehenne ke baad phenk dete hain. Aap kehna kya chah rahi hain (We don’t wash our clothes, we throw them away after wearing them. What are you trying to say)?”
Amitabh has been hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati since its first season, which aired in 2000. While Shah Rukh Khan briefly replaced him in 2007, Amitabh continues to host the show to this date.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in Kalki 2898 AD, a movie that features actors like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and is scheduled for release next year.
