‘Of Course It Hurts’: Nushrratt Bharuccha On Being Replaced By Ananya Panday In ‘Dream Girl 2’

Nushrratt Is Gearing Up For Her Forthcoming Movie 'Akelli,' Set To Hit The Silver Screen On The Same Day, August 25

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday are set to grace the big screen in Dream Girl 2, with its trailer unveiled just a few days ago. Yet, when Nushrratt Bharuccha, the leading lady from the first Dream Girl installment, was questioned about her absence in the sequel, she candidly admitted her lack of knowledge.

Speaking with Times of India, Nushrratt shared, “But why they didn’t cast me in Dream Girl 2, I think only they can answer. I don’t know, there is no logic and there is no answer to it.” She expressed, “I am a human being, so of course it hurts. And of course it feels unfair.”

Nushrratt also mentioned having watched the trailer for ‘Dream Girl 2’ and extended her best wishes to Ayushmann, Ananya, and the film’s team. In this sequel, Nushrratt’s role has been taken over by Ananya Panday. The initial Dream Girl film enjoyed considerable success at the box office, and its second installment is scheduled for release on August 25.

Meanwhile, Nushrratt is gearing up for her forthcoming movie ‘Akelli,’ set to hit the silver screen on the same day, August 25, thereby leading to an unexpected clash with Dream Girl 2. The actress clarified that this overlap was not intentional and her film was initially slated for release a week earlier. However, it was postponed to August 25 due to issues with the Censor Board.

Directed by Pranay Meshram, ‘Akelli’ have a diverse cast, including international artists such as Amir Boutrous and Tsahi Halevi. The clash between these two films adds an intriguing twist to their respective releases.
