Vivek also shared an explanatory clip, in which he delved into the significance of the film and its journey from a renowned literary work to a cinematic masterpiece.

Renowned filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently unveiled his next cinematic venture after ‘The Vaccine War.’ Titled ‘Parva: An Epic Tale of Dharma,’ this ambitious project is an adaptation of S. L. Bhyrappa’s celebrated Kannada novel, focusing on the Mahabharata. Vivek shared the exciting news via his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), along with the film’s first poster.

In his tweet, Vivek Agnihotri posed a profound question: “Is Mahabharat history or mythology?” He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to present Padma Bhushan Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa’s ‘modern classic’ to the world, emphasizing why ‘Parva’ is regarded as the “Masterpiece of masterpieces.” The film will explore the timeless themes of dharma and ethics within the epic Mahabharata.

‘Parva’ is produced by Vivek’s wife, actor Pallavi Joshi, and is written by Prakash Belawadi. Vivek also shared an explanatory clip, in which he delved into the significance of the film and its journey from a renowned literary work to a cinematic masterpiece. He revealed that ‘Parva’ will be presented in three parts, and the production is already underway.

“What is Parva? Watch.” In the clip, he is heard saying, “It’s said that Mahabharat is the source of all stories. Is it just a mythology or India’s consciousness? The question remains – is it history or mythology? After researching for 17 years, Padma Bhushan winning SL Bhyrappa wrote a modern classic, Parva. It’s called a masterpiece of masterpieces. The book has been translated in many languages including English, Russian, Chinese and Sanskrit. It has been a best-seller in all languages. We are proud and happy that he has given us the responsibility to bring the story to the big screen. Parva: An epic tale of dharma will be out in three parts and the production work has begun.”

Vivek Agnihotri’s previous release, ‘The Vaccine War,’ starring a stellar cast including Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, Sapthami Gowda, and Pallavi Joshi, garnered attention but received a mixed response at the box office. ‘Parva: An Epic Tale of Dharma’ promises to be a compelling cinematic exploration of the timeless Mahabharata, offering audiences a unique perspective on this iconic epic.
