The Vaccine War Collection Day 2: Vivek Agnihotri’s Film Fails To Pick Up

Check out the earning of "The Vaccine War" on second day of its release.

In a rather sluggish start at the domestic box office, Vivek Agnihotri’s film “The Vaccine War” is struggling to make a mark. According to data from Sacnilk.com, the film has managed to accumulate just over Rs 1.70 crore in its first two days since hitting the theaters on September 28. On the opening day, the film had earned just about a crore while the earnings dropped down on the second day of its release as it reportedly raked in Rs 85 lakh nett in India.

“The Vaccine War” boasts an ensemble cast featuring Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, and Pallavi Joshi in pivotal roles. Notably, in August, the film conducted special screenings in the United States as part of the India for Humanity Tour.

Clarifying the movie’s premise, Pallavi Joshi stated in an interview with news agency ANI, “A lot of people are confused…But this film is not based on Covid. We are only talking about how the vaccine was made and the problems faced during that time. This is not a dark film in any sense…It is a very positive film that celebrates our success. The audience will be filled with pride when they leave the theatres after watching it…We have proved that India can do it…”

Despite its slow start, “The Vaccine War” aims to shed light on a significant aspect of India’s recent achievement, focusing on the development of vaccines during a critical time of Covid-19. As the film continues its theatrical run, it remains to be seen if it can gain momentum and draw a larger audience.
