Suhani Bhatnagar passed away on Friday at the age of 19. The day after her death, her father, Sumit Bhatnagar, addressed the media regarding his daughter. According to the news agency PTI, he mentioned that Suhani had been battling dermatomyositis, a rare inflammatory condition leading to skin rash and muscle weakness.
Suhani Bhatnagar’s Father Reveals The Reason Behind Her Death
Talking to the media Suhani’s father said, “She developed a red spot on her hands about two months ago. We thought it was an allergy and we consulted with doctors in different hospitals in Faridabad but it couldn’t be diagnosed. When her condition started deteriorating, we got her admitted to AIIMS. But there was no improvement and her lungs were damaged due to accumulation of excess fluid”.
Suhani Bhatnagar’s Mother Talks About Her Daughter’s Death
Suhani’s mother Pooja Bhatnagar also spoke to ANI about her daughter. Bursting in tears Suhani’s mother said, “Har parent proud feel karta hai ki woh apne bache ke naam se jana jata hai. Hamari kya identity thi? Hume jo recognition mila hai woh to Suhani ki wajah se hi mila hai, ki ye ‘Dangal girl ke parents hain’, jahan bhi jana ho uski recognition hoti thi… har ek ko apna bacha bahut acha lagta hai par hamara bacha hume bahut proud feel kara ke gaya hai.”
In her conversation with Etimes, Pooja Bhatnagar revealed that her daughter Suhani had plans to continue her career in films after she completed her graduation. For the unversed, Suhani appeared alongside Aamir Khan in the film, Dangal, and played the role of young Babita Phogat in the film.

Dangal actors including Aamir Khan, Sanya Malhotra, Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari, and others shared their reaction to Suhani’s death as they offered condolences to her family. Article 370 actress Yami Gautam stopped her interactive X session with fans midway after learning of Suhani’s death.
