Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited film Laal Singh Chaddha. It has been in the making for a long time and faced multiple delays due to Covid-19 and post-production work. Now when the film is ready for release, a large chunk of people have announced a boycott of the film. #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha often trends on Twitter and this has concerned superstar Aamir Khan as well.
Rakhi Sawant was recently spotted with her boyfriend Adil Khan where she was asked to share her opinion on the boycott trend. Unaware of the situation, Rakhi questioned back, “What is the reason behind the boycott? Is it because he grew his beard and his face is not visible?”
While she praised Aamir Khan’s stardom, she also suggested that the controversial scenes (if any) must be removed from the movie. Knowingly or unknowingly, she also made fun of the film’s title. Rakhi said, “Since when did Aamir Khan start getting fearful? Tell him that there’s no need to be scared. Laal Chaddha na? Laal Singh Chaddhi? (laughs) Sorry, Laal Singh Chaddha! Was he someone real? I don’t know about him. I know about Narendra Modi and Mahatma Gandhi. Aamir Khan is brave. He is never scared of anyone. But if there’s anything controversial, they should cut the scene and then release the film. Whenever Aamir Khan’s movie releases, it leaves other films behind. It touches the sky and makes a lot of money.”
She further compared Bollywood stars with South actors and seemed to have taken a dig at Aamir Khan for his love life. She said, “Do you know why Bollywood heroes are not working these days but South heroes are? Because some Bollywood heroes are very horny. Not all, but some. South heroes are polite. They don’t show off. The way they live in their homes, the same way they go out also, even in slippers. They earn millions of rupees but if you visit them, you’ll know that they live with their family. They don’t run after girlfriends. They don’t do bad with wives. They take their wife and kids on vacations. If there’s a new heroine, they don’t flirt with her and start an affair. But some Bollywood heroes do that. Even after they get married, they have affair and then leave their wives.
“South heroes are good. They have a strong commitment towards their family. You see Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Rajinikanth. They never leave their wives and don’t even have an affair outside. That’s why their wives bless them and they become megastars. I am not bad-mouthing Bollywood but I am talking about those stars who have extramarital affairs. And I am not at all talking about Aamir Khan,” she concluded.
Laal Singh Chaddha is the remake of American classic Forrest Gump. It stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya. It will hit the screens on 11 August 2022.
