R Balki’s psychological thriller Chup: Revenge of the Artist is all set to make its entry to OTT. The film was released in theaters on 23rd September 2022. The film got rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The movie featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary attracted the audience with its unique screenplay.
The unconventional psychological revenge thriller was touted as a tribute to legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt. It was advertised as an ode to Dutt’s 1959 classic film ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’. The film revolves around the sensitivity of an artist. Chup: Revenge of the Artist will soon premiere on the OTT platform. Zee5 will stream the movie on its streaming platform from November 25.
Chup: Revenge of the Artist helmed by R Balki is the story of a psychopath serial killer who is targeting film critics. After the release of every film, a film critic is killed for giving bad reviews. The idea of Chup was developed from R Balki’s own experience.
Those who missed watching Chup on big screens can now watch in the comfort of their home. ‘Chup: Revenge Of The Artist’ will premiere exclusively on Zee5 OTT on November 25, 2022. The film will be released in 5 languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Zee5 made the announcement by sharing clips of different characters from the film. The channel dropped a poster of the film on social media and wrote, “Aa raha hai #CriticsKaCritic to silence those who dare to silence the art of cinema. Witness the revenge of the artist in #ChupOnZEE5 on 25th November.”
Chup: Revenge Of The Artist marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan as a music composer. The megastar composed the end title track for the film. The 79-year-old actor opted to lend his craftily created music to the movie after he watched it.
Chup is a tribute to legendary actor-filmmaker Guru Dutt who passed away in 1964 at the age of 39. Chup: Revenge of Artist is written and directed by R Balki who is known for making Paa, Padman, Shamitabh, Ki & Ka, and Cheeni Kum.
