Priyanka Chopra hasn’t appeared in a Bollywood film since 2019’s ‘The Sky is Pink’. Although she was expected to make a comeback with ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, directed by Farhan Akhtar, the project seems to have encountered delays. Despite fans’ longing for Priyanka’s presence in Bollywood, a recent report suggests that she is actively pursuing a collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on a new venture. If everything aligns according to the plan, SLB and Priyanka will reunite after nearly a decade since their collaboration on ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
According to a recent report from Hindustan Times, a source revealed to the portal that Priyanka and Bhansali are currently discussing an action-packed movie. The source claimed, “She knows there is a lot of curiosity around her next Hindi project and wants to finalise a project soon. She is going through several scripts, and meeting several makers to decide on the same. In fact, she is also meeting Sanjay Leela Bhansali for an action project, set in a different period. She has liked the project, and is meeting Bhansali now to decide on the timeline, schedule, and costumes”.
The source added, “For Priyanka, the trip to India is purely for work. Along with attending the event in Mumbai, she has several things lined up for. She has back to back meetings in different capacities, she also has a production house, and she has decided to put some focus on the same. She is meeting people to finalise three or four of the next projects under her banner”.
However, these reports are yet to be officially confirmed by Priyanka Chopra and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
On the work front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is gearing up to launch his inaugural OTT project, a series named ‘Heeramandi’, featuring a star-studded cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal. Conversely, Priyanka has projects like Russo Brothers’ ‘The Bluff’ and ‘Heads of State’ in the works.
