‘Mouni Roy’ is known to be one of the most stylish and talented divas in the film industry. From daily soaps to acting in Bollywood the Naagin star has surely come a long way. Mouni also gained immense appreciation for the portrayal of her character ‘Junoon’ in Dharma’s magnum opus movie ‘Brahmastra: Part 1- Shiva’ starring ‘Ranbir Kapoor’, ‘Alia Bhatt’, ‘Nagarjuna’ and ‘Shah Rukh Khan’ in significant roles, where the actress shook everybody with her performance as an antagonist. Roy marked her ‘Hindi Film’ debut with ‘Akshay Kumar’ starrer sports-drama film ‘Gold’ which scored well on the box office and was critically acclaimed too.
Recently in an interview with ‘Bollywood Bubble’ Mouni revealed that she forget her lines while shooting for a scene in Brahmastra with ‘SRK’- “No, I was in awe. Awe is the word. I remember day one, usually I’m good with my lines and I memorise them quickly and the AD came and asked me, ‘Ma’am, have you done your lines?’ I said, ‘Yeah’. And then, I went on set and I saw him (SRK). She added ”In the first rehearsal take I forgot my first line because it’s such an out of body experience when he’s standing in front of you. But he’s lovely. He’s just the wittiest, kindest, and most amazing man ever.”
The ‘Gold’ girl also extended gratitude for the love she garnered for her role in ‘Ayan Mukerji’ directorial; “I didn’t expect this kind of reaction. I thought people are going to like it but also it was my garb was outlandish and I had to speak in shudh Hindi so I didn’t know how people are going to receive the role but I was overjoyed, it would be an understatement when I kind of understood the audience’s reaction. So, it was one character that unanimously everybody loved to hate. When something like that happens, it leaves you with a lot of gratitude. I was overwhelmed.”
On the professional front ‘Mouni Roy’ will be next seen in Horror Comedy- film ‘The Virgin tree’ co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Palak Tiwari and Sunny Singh. The Bengali Beauty also enjoys supreme popularity on Instagram with around 30 million followers.
