In a recent conversation with Inside Bollywood, Neena Gupta opened up about her first kissing scene for a TV show and recalled how horrific it was for her. She recalled that she was not comfortable performing lip-locks with her co-star Dilip Dhawan in the 1990s in Dillagi. She said that as actors, they have to do all kinds of scenes; sometimes we have to step in mud or stand in the sun for several hours.
Talking about her first scene, Neena shared that many years ago she did a serial with Dilip Dhawan that had the first ever lip-to-lip kissing scene on Indian TV. She couldn’t sleep all night. She wasn’t ready physically and mentally; she was tense, but she convinced herself to go through with it.”
She further explained that she drilled it into her head and did it. As soon as the scene was over, she rinsed her mouth with Dettol. That was really difficult for her to kiss someone she didn’t know.
