Kriti Sanon is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after actresses in the Bollywood film industry. The actress won millions of hearts and succeeded through sheer dedication and diligence. She is the most prominent name in the industry and gets big projects with well-known filmmakers. But did you know she rejected the offer of filmmaker Karan Johar in Netflix’s Lust Stories because her mother asked her not to do it.
Kriti Sanon mentioned in her Koffee With Karan 2 episode that her mother, Geeta Sanon, was not comfortable with the idea of the film due to their middle-class background. Kriti’s mother was praised after these revelations that she had refused to let her daughter play the orgasmic role.
But later, Kriti’s Bhediya film song ‘Thumkeshwari’ grabbed everyone’s attention, and then netizens pointed out that her mother might have agreed for her daughter to perform such sensuous songs, while she was not happy about Kriti doing Lust Stories because of its sexual content.
In an interview, Geeta Sanon revealed why she asked her daughter Kriti not to do Lust Stories. Because she thought they could not be comfortable seeing her do such a scene at the beginning of her career. She said it was only about orgasm.
While talking about the same, Kriti Sanon said that she thought her problem was more that it was a short film and not a full-fledged film, so her mother said it was a 20 minute thing about only a female orgasm. She further said that if you are doing a 20-minute thing in a full-fledged film, that would make sense. I don’t think there’s anything wrong. Maybe, as Karan said, if he had talked to my mother, it would have been all right.”
Meanwhile, Kriti has been busy promoting her film Adipurush, in which she plays the role of Janaki and also features Prabhas as the central character. She will be next seen in the yet-to-be-titled romantic comedy alongside Shahid Kapoor.
