Karan Johar On Dealing With Hate In Bollywood, Says “You Have To Turn A Blind Eye”

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar opens up on ongoing negativity on social media and hatred towards the Bollywood industry.

The ongoing Boycott trend aka the cancel culture has indeed been one of the most debatable topics recently. The trend has affected many big-budget films like Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera among many others. While the Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has now finally broken his silence on the ongoing negativity on social media and said, “You Have To Turn A Blind Eye”.

Karan Johar Opens Up On Boycott Trend And Negativity On Social Media

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is currently one of the busiest personalities in the b town, with films like Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Brahmastra, and many others in the bag, and that’s not it, he also has his very popular chat show Koffee With Karan while now the filmmaker is gearing up for another television reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.

Recently during an interview with Indian Express, the filmmaker was seen addressing the ongoing negativity on social media and the viral cancel culture aka the Boycott trend, he said, “I think that you have to turn a blind eye towards negativity in general. I think if you are positive from within, you will only attract positivity. However, if you start listening and reacting to negative things, it will only bring the same energy. And hence, I have shut it out of life.”

He added,  “I also believe that negativity should be justified. Jo galat hai, it deserves to be told off but you cannot do it for no reason. Hence, I just choose to focus only on positivity.” Apart from Karan, many other celebrities from Bollywood and the South industry have shared their opinions on the matter.

While the year 2022, witnessed many Bollywood flops, including Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan and Samrat Prithviraj, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera among many others in the list. These films were one of the most anticipated and awaited movies, however, due to the ongoing boycott trends, all the films faced a disastrous run at the box office.

Karan Johar’s Upcoming Projects

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar currently hosts his very popular chat show Koffee With Karan while now he will soon be seen as a judge in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa with Madhuri Dixit and Nora Fatehi. Apart from this, the filmmaker is currently gearing up for the release of Brahmastra, he also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Khani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead.
