Hema Malini was recently spotted at the book launch of Gulzar’s biography titled ‘Gulzar Saab: Hazar Rahein Mud Ke Dekhin.’ However, a video from the event has gone viral on social media, capturing a moment where the actress and politician appeared displeased after a fan requested a selfie.
In the video, the actress remarked, ‘Selfie lene ke liye thodi aayein hain’ (We haven’t come here to take selfies). This response didn’t sit well with social media users, leading to criticism and trolling for what was perceived as rude behavior.
One user commented, ‘Rassi jal gyii …pr bll nhi jale’
Another user expressed, ‘Koi sok ni slfi kaa wo tu aap celebrates ho isliye warna paas se gujr jaau tu sakkal bi naadekee’ (No one cares about your selfie, you are just a celeb, otherwise if we passed by, we wouldn’t even recognize you).
A third user remarked, ‘Ab bhi ghamand khatam nahi hua in madam ka’ (Her arrogance still hasn’t subsided).
The book launch was attended by numerous celebrities from Bollywood. Additionally, Hema Malini recently celebrated her 75th birthday with a grand party. Her husband Dharmendra graced the event, joined by other yesteryear superstars like Jeetendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Padmini Kolhapure, among many others.
Regarding her professional life, the actress was last seen in the film ‘Shimla Mirchi,’ released in 2020. Apart from her film career, she actively engages in politics and serves as a Member of Parliament from the Mathura constituency.
