Gaurav Chopra Reveals Why He Was Initially Unsure About Doing A Role In ‘Gadar 2’

Among The Star-Studded Cast, Gaurav Chopra, Who Plays A Special Role, Admitted To Feeling Hesitant At The Beginning

The trailer of Gadar 2 has taken the internet by storm, with fans eagerly anticipating the sequel to the blockbuster Gadar. Among the star-studded cast, Gaurav Chopra, who plays a special role, admitted to feeling hesitant at the beginning.

Speaking to Free Press Journal, Gaurav expressed, “It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to be a part of a brand like Gadar. The first film had established itself as one of the most blockbuster movies of that time, and Gadar 2 promises to be just that. To work with stalwarts like Sunny sir and to experience his warmth on set was fascinating. It is a special role, and all the scenes are special. In fact, this is one of those roles that define special roles in a film. The length or the number of the scenes doesn’t matter.”

He went on to reveal that Anil Sharma, the director of Gadar 2, showed immense love and respect, convincing him to take on the role even when he initially hesitated due to the number of scenes. After listening to the story, Gaurav immediately said yes, understanding the significance of being part of such a prestigious project.

Gadar 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 11, and interestingly, it will clash with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 at the box office. The film stars prominent actors like Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakeena, Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet Singh, and Simrat Kaur as Muskaan in pivotal roles.

When asked about the clash, Sunny Deol expressed his confusion regarding the constant comparisons between films. In an interview with Times of India, he said, “Gadar grossed over ₹100 crore, while Lagaan earned much less. I don’t understand why people compare films, whether it’s in terms of business or likability.”

Sunny further elaborated that Gadar faced misconceptions, but despite that, it became a people’s film, loved by the masses. He cited previous experiences with his films like “Ghayal” and “Dil,” which also clashed at the box office, and mentioned that genuine comparisons were unnecessary.

As the release dates draw nearer, fans eagerly await both Gadar 2 and OMG 2, hoping for two incredible cinematic experiences.
