Dunki Box Office Collection Day 2: SRK Starrer Affected By Salaar, Sees Drop!

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki saw a huge drop on Friday after the release of Prabhas starrer, Salaar. Facing a tough competition with Salaar, Dunki earned 20cr on its 2 day at the box office.

Rajkumar Hirani’s much-awaited and highly-anticipated film, Dunki was released in theatres on 21 December, 2023. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal, Dunki opened lower than expected and grossed 30cr on its opening day. Meanwhile, following the release of “Salaar,” the film saw a drop at the box office on its second day earning 20cr.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki earned a total of 30cr on its opening day. However, the film saw a major drop at the box office post the theatrical release of Prashanth Neel’s film, Salaar. As per Sacnilk, Dunki earned a total ₹20 crores on Friday, taking the domestic box office collections to a total ₹49.20 crores.

Dunki is expected to see further growth during the weekend (Saturday-Sunday) and Christmas (Monday). Dunki is also expected to face tough competition with Prabhas starrer Salaar which has now become the biggest opener of the year, after registering a box office opening worth 95cr.

Although Dunki had a box office opening lower than SRK’s previous films, Jawan (75cr) and Pathaan (106cr), the film still managed to beat 2023 releases like still managed to score better than films like Sam Bahadur (Rs 6.25 crores), Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (Rs 15.81 crore), Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Rs 11.1 crore), and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (Rs 15.73 crore) among others.
