A while back, actress Deepika Padukone’s name surfaced in the alleged drug nexus when several of her WhatsApp chats went viral on the social media. Following the speculations, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sent a summon to the actress. Later on Saturday, Deepika Padukone reached the NCB office to record her statement. As per the reports, Deepika Padukone allegedly revealed the meaning of hash and maal during the questioning by NCB.
For the unknown, several of the alleged WhatsApp chats of Deepika Padukone included words like hash and maal. These chats were with her manager Karishma Prakash. In the chats, the Cocktail actress requests Karishma to arrange the illegal substance for her.
As the drug chats went viral, Deepika Padukone started to receive a lot of backlash from the netizens and other people. The actress was interrogated for the same by the NCB. During the interrogation, Deepika Padukone reportedly revealed the meaning of the words hash and maal used in the chat with Karishma.
As per the reports, Deepika Padukone has claimed that the meaning of words hash and maal were ‘code words’ used for cigarettes. The hearsay suggests that the 34-year old actress said that these words are code word for thin cigarettes.
According to the answers by Karishma, even she claimed that the meaning of hash and maal is nothing but cigarettes.
Apart from that, the actress makes the confession of never consuming drugs in her entire life.
Deepika Padukone flew back to Mumbai from Goa on Thursday night. The actress was in Goa shooting for Shakun Batra’s upcoming untitled venture.
Apart from Deepika Padukone, actresses like Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were also interrogated by the NCB. Both of them have shared screen space alongside the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput.
