An ensemble cast has come together for a new movie directed by Charan Tej Uppalapati. Charan, who successfully produced Telugu films like ‘Spy’ and ‘Malli Modalaindi’, is about to make his Bollywood directorial debut with Kajol, Prabhu Deva and Nasseruddin Shah. In an exclusive interview with HT, the director confirmed Kajol and Prabhudeva’s collaboration after 27 years. Kajol and Prabhu Deva shared the screen for the first time in a Tamil movie ‘Minsara Kanavu’ and after that they will appear together in Charan’s movie, but definitely not in a love angle. The director assured that “it will be a treat for audiences to watch them together on-screen”.
Talking about the film, director Charan Tej Uppalapati said, “It shows how parents feel left behind when kids move on. There are a lot of parents or grandparents who miss their children and have no one to take care of them. I have written multiple stories through the years, but this is the one I wanted to debut with.” Even Naseeruddin Shah agreed immediately after reading the script and added, “It’s time we told stories like this.” The team is already done with the Hyderabad & Mumbai Schedule and may release the teaser next week.
Samyuktha is also a significant part of the film. Charan revealed that the bond between Samyuktha and Kajol’s character is a crucial point of the movie. The project is definitely thrilling for Kajol as she is doing action for the first time. Apart from Samyuktha, Kajol, Prabhu Deva & Naseer Sir, Aditya Seal and Jisshu Sengupta will be seen in prominent roles.
Charan also shared the other crew members of the film. Harshavardhan Rameshwar is the music head. He was part of Animal’s music team. Pushpa 2 editor Naveen Nooli is editing the film. Jawan’s cinematographer, GK Vishnu is doing cinematography for Kajol starrer movie.
