Starting her career as classical singer to leaving her profitable job to enter Bollywood, Madhushree Bhattacharya talks about her blossoming career!

Madhushree Bhattacharya, a classical magician who transcends borders through her versatile singing and captivates audience with its beauty that travels listeners to the different world. Lending voice in South Indian films to Bollywood, talking about her melodious career, the vocalist sat in conversation with Lehren and was insightful while sharing on how her professional career took a turning point. From learning classical singing by her parents, earning a profitable job in South America, later Kumar Sanu discovering her striking talent to becoming muse of AR Rahman.

Born to Amarendranath and Parbati Bhattacharya, her parents were her initial music teachers. Further learning classical singing from the great Sangeet acharya Pt. Amiya Ranjan Bandyopadhyay and after getting trained in ‘Thumri’ by Pt. A.T. Kanan this became her expertise. That paved her way to earn a successful job as a classical trainer in Suriname, South America.

Later, discovered by then superstar singer Kumar Sanu; who was so impressed with Madhushree’s angelic vocals that he wanted her to try in Bollywood but her father was unhappy with this decision. Then how did she make her space in the glamorous industry?

Struggling to fit in for almost three-four which made Madhushree’s father unhappy until she received first award for the song ‘Kabhi Neem Neem’ from the film ‘Yuva’ which earned her numerous nominations. The music maestro AR Rahman then started signing her in several chartbusters and the latter became a melodious voice behind his famous songs like ‘Kabhi Neem Neem’, ‘Hum Hain Is Pal Yahan’, ‘Tu Bin Bataye’ and many others.

Adding on, the singer revealed that she will be ever grateful for meeting AR Rahman and calls it her turning point of life.
