Armaan Kohli’s Father Veteran Filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli Passes Away At 93

The filmmaker was discovered by his son Armaan Kohli on Friday morning, having not emerged from the bathroom for an extended period.

Renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, known for directing memorable films like “Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahaan,” “Naagin,” “Badle Ki Aag,” and “Pati Patni aur Tawaif,” passed away at the age of 93 on Friday morning.

According to reports from News 18, publicist and close friend Vijay Grover confirmed the news, stating that Rajkumar Kohli’s last rites will take place later today.

The filmmaker was discovered by his son Armaan Kohli on Friday morning, having not emerged from the bathroom for an extended period. Upon breaking the door, Armaan found his father on the floor. Rajkumar was promptly rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Armaan Kohli, also an actor, began his career as a child artist in movies such as “Dulla Bhatti” (1966) and “Lootera” (1970), starring alongside icons like Dara Singh and Nishi.

Under his father’s direction, Armaan featured in films like “Nagin,” “Jaani Dushman,” “Badle Ki Aag,” “Naukar Biwi Ka,” and “Raaj Tilak.” Making his leading role debut in his father’s movie “Virodhi” (1992), Armaan’s Bollywood journey struggled to gain significant attention.

Armaan Kohli later gained recognition through his participation in the controversial reality show “Bigg Boss” season seven in 2013. His time on Salman Khan’s show made him a household name, albeit for his volatile temper and romantic relationship with fellow contestant and actress Tanishaa Mukerji. Despite reaching the finals, Kohli faced controversy with an alleged physical altercation with co-participant Sofia Hayat during the show. He was, however, released on bail within 24 hours.
