Alia Bhatt’s Lipstick Story Sparks Criticism; Her Husband Faces Backlash, ‘Ranbir Does Sound Like A Toxic Husband!’ A User Wrote

Alia And Ranbir Faced Similar Criticism When Alia Mentioned In An Interview That Ranbir 'Doesn't Like' Her Raising Her Voice During Arguments

Ranbir Kapoor is once again being labelled a ‘red flag’ by the online community following Alia Bhatt’s recent revelation about their dynamic. In a fresh video feature for Vogue India, Alia showcased her unique approach to applying and keeping minimal lipstick, citing her husband’s preferences as the reason behind it.

During the video, Alia demonstrated her unconventional technique of applying lipstick by moving her lips across the lipstick rather than directly applying it. She acknowledged that the method might seem unusual, but it’s her personal preference. She then proceeded to almost entirely remove the lipstick from her lips to achieve a faded appearance. She explained, “Because one thing my husband… when he wasn’t my husband but when he was my boyfriend as well… he would be like ‘wipe that off, wipe that off’ because he loves the natural color of my lips.”

However, this narrative didn’t sit well with netizens, leading to criticism directed at both Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

One user expressed, “The more I hear about Ranbir Kapoor, the more concerned I am for her. If your boyfriend/husband is telling you to remove your lipstick, that’s the biggest sign for you to run! It’s neither cute nor funny! I can’t believe that India’s most celebrated actress is going through this.”

Another user shared, “She’s essentially glorifying such misogynistic behavior. But why? Perhaps she believes it’s charming, but it’s not. Her husband dislikes it if her voice goes above a certain decibel, and he even instructs her to remove the lipstick she’s wearing. Judging by her narration, it reeks of misogyny.”

A third user remarked, “Ranbir does sound like a toxic husband!”

Earlier, Alia and Ranbir faced similar criticism when Alia mentioned in an interview that Ranbir ‘doesn’t like’ her raising her voice during arguments. She had stated, “I have to make a conscious effort to control my anger because my husband doesn’t like it when my voice goes above a certain level. He believes it’s unfair and that it’s crucial to remain kind even when you’re unhappy,” as shared with Vice.
