Adipurush Controversy: Makers Remove ‘Sita Is The Daughter Of India’ Dialogue

Adipurush's makers have now removed one of the movie's dialogues after Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah threatened to stall the Om Raut film's release in Nepal.

Bollywood’s much-awaited film Adipurush has been in the headlines ever since the first look of the film was announced. A dialogue from the mytho-drama starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon has reportedly been cut after Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah threatened to block the Om Raut movie’s Nepali release. In the trailer of the film, we get the dialogue that “Sita is the daughter of India.” This made Mayor Balen put out an objection on the internet, and he also asked the movie’s makers to rectify the mistake about the birthplace of Sita.

Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah took to social media to share his disappointment:

On Thursday, he took to his Facebook handle to share the announcement in Nepali, which reads, “Until and unless the slogan ‘Janki is the daughter of India’ included in the South Indian film ‘Adipurush’ is not true not only in Nepal but also in India, no Hindi film will be allowed to run in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Three days have been given to correct this. Hail to Mother Sita.”

Earlier, the Censor Board of Nepal also decided to give permission to Adipurush for the same reason.
