After a long wait, the teaser for Back In Action, starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, has finally dropped. Unveiled on November 14, this action-packed espionage comedy offers a thrilling glimpse of the dynamic duo’s return to the screen. With over-the-top action sequences blend with humour, Diaz and Foxx seem to be giving it their all, marking Diaz’s comeback after an 11-year break and Foxx’s return following his recent hospitalisation.
In the teaser, we meet former CIA operatives Emily and Matt, played by Diaz and Foxx who have left their spy lives behind to start a family. However, when their old identities resurface, they’re pulled back in action into the world of espionage. The trailer adds a light-hearted touch as Matt’s child asks him, “Like Jason Bourne?” to which he replies, “Yes, but we remember stuff.” This blend of humour and action sets the stage for an exhilarating journey.
As per People, the synopsis read, the couple’s quiet life is upended when their cover is blown, forcing them back into dangerous situations they thought were in the past. Besides Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, the film features a star-studded cast, including Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson. Directed by Seth Gordon and co-written with Brendan O’Brien.
Set to release on Netflix on January 17, 2025 Back In Action will be the third collaboration for Diaz and Foxx. Fans may remember their previous team-ups in Any Given Sunday (1999) and Annie (2014), which was also Diaz’s last film before her break. Their reunion is generating excitement among fans who are eager to see these two actors back together bringing breathtaking action onscreen.
