Singer and producer Mika Singh’s shocking experience of working with bold and beautiful Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu and her husband Karan Singh Grover on the web series Dangerous, which he produced led to making headlines on the same. In an interview, he claimed that the couple caused delays, made unexpected demands and significantly increased production costs.
Mika Singh revealed that he had taken a team to London for a month-long shoot which extended to two months. According to him, Bipasha and Karan insisted on separate hotel rooms despite being a married couple and later requested a change of hotel. He further mentioned that they often made excuses about having a sore throat and refused to shoot certain scenes. Mika claimed these issues led to a significant rise in the budget, turning what was supposed to be a Rs 4 crore project into a Rs 14 crore venture.
Mika also pointed out a larger industry issue, saying, “These stars show extra respect to big production houses like Dharma and Yash Raj, even for small roles, but when independent producers invest in them, they create problems.”
Shortly after Mika Singh’s interview went viral soon after that Bipasha Basu shared a message on her Instagram story as per the reports in Moneycontrol. Without mentioning anyone directly, she posted a quote by Dr. Anne Brown: “Toxic people create chaos, point fingers, shift blame and avoid taking responsibility.” She also wrote, “Stay away from toxicity and negativity. God bless all. Durga Durga.”
Fans quickly speculated that her post was aimed at Mika Singh, considering the timing of her statement. While Bipasha did not directly address the allegations, her response added to the ongoing discussion about professionalism in the industry.
This controversy has sparked a debate among industry insiders and fans. While some have defended Bipasha, stating that Mika’s claims lack evidence, others believe professionalism should be a priority regardless of the producer’s background. As of now, Bipasha Basu has chosen not to make any further statements and it remains to be seen if she will respond directly to Mika Singh’s allegations.
