The filmmaker known for his bold storytelling and unconventional approach to cinema, yes, its none other than Anurag Kashyap. While he keep surprising audience with his groundbreaking work as a director and actor, but Anurag Kashyap recently left fans and industry insiders shocked by making headlines for reportedly leaving Bollywood and moving out of Mumbai, and marking his place in down South. A week ago, The Hindu reported that Kashyap has relocated from the city, however, now actor Rajesh Kumar, best known for his role in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai has now addressed these reports, suggesting they might not be accurate.
Rajesh Kumar Denies Reports of Anurag Kashyap Leaving Mumbai
In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Rajesh Kumar called Anurag Kashyap as one of his ultimate inspiration in the entertainment industry. When asked about the reports claiming the filmmaker has left Mumbai, he quickly responded saying, “Nahi chhoda hai!” (He didn’t leave!). When asked if the reports were false, he added, “I think so, kyunki unhone kahin baat ki hogi aur kisi ne kuch uthaake bana diya hoga (I think so because he must have said something, and someone picked it up and made a story out of it).”
Further Kumar even joked about the situation saying, “Good yaar, they are people at work, but whenever you see ‘men at work’, vo sadke hi bana rahe hote (they are always working, but whenever you see ‘men at work’, they’re only fixing roads).”
‘Anurag Is An Institute In Himself’
When asked if he had spoken to Kashyap directly, Kumar admitted, “Nahi, hui nahi hai baat” (No, we haven’t spoken). However, he had nothing but praise for the filmmaker, calling him a powerhouse of knowledge. “That is the man you cannot just talk to; you’ve to listen to him. He is an institute in himself, the amount of knowledge that guy has! Opiniated nahi hai vo aadmi lekin wakahi filmmaking, cinema, art – he has a knowledge about it (He’s not opinionated, but when it comes to filmmaking, cinema, and art, he truly knows his stuff).”
Kashyap is often in the news for his outspoken nature, sometimes facing backlash for his views. Rajesh Kumar believes that instead of dismissing someone’s opinions, people should try to understand them. “There’s a difference between listening and hearing. If you start listening na, uske baad tum apni research karo na, tum apni shodh karo, tum chalo apne raaste(If you start listening, then do your own research, conduct your own study, and follow your own path) ” and he emphasized that every opinion holds some knowledge and there’s always something to learn from such people.
The reports of Anurag Kashyap leaving Mumbai continue to create buzz but without an official statement from the director himself, nothing is confirmed. Rajesh Kumar’s take suggests that old reports might be resurfacing or misinterpreted. Now until Kashyap himself addresses the situation, fans and industry insiders will have to wait for clarity.
