After charming audiences as the endearing ‘Law’ in Netflix’s hit comedy Maamla Legal Hai, actor Amit Vikram Pandey is all set to make his feature film debut with Jassi Weds Jassi, releasing in cinemas on November 7, 2025.
A family RoMedy full of laughter, chaos, and heart, Jassi Weds Jassi is directed by Paran Bawa, who earlier assisted on acclaimed films like Rang De Basanti, Karthik Calling Karthik, and Angrezi Medium. The film features an ensemble cast including Ranvir Shorey, Sikandar Kher, Manu Rishi Chadha, Sudesh Lehri, Grusha Kapoor, Rehmat Rattan, Harshvardhan Singh Deo, and Amit Vikram Pandey.
Set in the small-town world of Haldwani, the film takes audiences back to the nostalgia of the 90s with landlines, cassette tapes, and the beautiful mess of family, friendships, and first love. Amit plays a pivotal role in the story, portraying a character who brings humour and warmth, with a loyalty to the bond of friendship that anchors the film’s emotional core.
When asked about the feeling before his big screen debut, Amit said, “Every actor dreams of seeing their first film on the big screen, and Jassi Weds Jassi is that dream come true for me. The journey from Kolkata’s theatre stages to Mumbai’s sets hasn’t been easy, but it’s been honest. To finally see my name and face on the film’s poster feels surreal, it’s something I’ve visualised for years while quietly working and waiting for the right moment. I’ve tried to stay patient and true to my craft, and now, to have my first feature film releasing in theatres feels both humbling and fulfilling. I hope people see a bit of themselves in the character I play because it comes straight from the heart.”
Born in Howrah, West Bengal, Amit began his artistic journey under the guidance of the legendary Late Shri Usha Ganguli ji with her iconic theatre group Rangkarmee. From Rudali to Chandalika, Mayyat and Hum Mukhtara, he performed at major theatre festivals across India — experiences that built his foundation as an actor.
After moving to Mumbai in 2016, Amit appeared in several commercials alongside names like Akshay Kumar, M.S. Dhoni, Taapsee Pannu, and Shakti Kapoor, before audiences discovered him on Netflix in Maamla Legal Hai. His portrayal of ‘Law’ was widely appreciated for its sincerity and warmth, making him a familiar and likeable face across OTT audiences.
Following Jassi Weds Jassi, Amit will also return in Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 and has a few exciting projects lined up, which will be announced soon.
