Actress Ayesha Jhulka, one of the most popular Bollywood stars of the 90s who went on to win hearts with her performances not just in Hindi but as well as in Bengali, Telugu and Kannada films. Known for movies like Kurbaan (1991), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Khiladi (1992), Meherbaan (1993) and more Ayesha was at the peak of her career. However, her romantic involvement with actor Armaan Kohli, her co-star in Kohra (1993) and Anaam (1992) films eventually led to stop her from signing any film.
Rumours during that time suggested that Ayesha and Armaan were not just dating but also engaged with wedding plans in place. When asked about where she had been for almost a year, Ayesha revealed, “Maine filmein sign karna bandh kar diya tha kyuki main shaadi karne wali thi but there are no plans for marriage and I’m back here.”
The interviewer then pressed further, asking about the man she was going to marry. Ayesha hesitated at first but admitted, “Sabko pata hai kisse karne wali thi… Armaan se.” Adding on, then being questioned about the reason behind their sudden breakup, she responded, “Kuch nahi hua…”, leaving everyone curious about the full story.
During the same interview, Ayesha also discussed her personal boundaries in signing films. She revealed that she never chose glamour over her comfort and preferred not to expose herself for the sake of stardom. She added that she never viewed her peers as competitors and stayed true to her principles.
