Popular choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle have recently been caught in a legal controversy. A 26-year-old dancer accused the couple, along with five others, of cheating a dance group out of Rs 11.96 crore. The complaint, filed at the Mira Road police station, claims that Remo D’Souza, Lizelle, and the others pretended to be the owners of a dance troupe that won the prize money during a TV show between 2018 and July 2024.
After these accusations came to light, Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle shared a statement on Instagram. In their message, the couple said they were upset about the allegations and requested people to avoid spreading rumors without knowing the facts. They also said they would share their side of the story soon and cooperate fully with the investigation.
The dancer who filed the complaint also mentioned other individuals involved, including Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, a policeman, and Ramesh Gupta. This case has attracted attention because of Remo’s well-known role as a judge on dance shows like Dance India Dance and Dance Plus and his work as a director for movies like ABCD and Street Dancer.
This isn’t the first time Remo has faced legal troubles. In 2016, he was accused of cheating a financier over a film project. Despite these past issues, Remo and Lizelle have assured their fans that they will address the current accusations and clear their names.
While the investigation continues, Remo and Lizelle thanked their family, friends, and fans for the love and support they’ve received.
