Sitcom star, and deadpan comedy legend ‘Bob Newhart’ passed away today at the age of 94. Publicist Jerry Digney confirmed the news that the star died due to a short yet recurring illnesses. Newhart was one of the highly well-known comedians, and also worked in the ‘Big Bang Theory’.
The U.S TV Star died Thursday at his Los Angeles home. The news was declared early this morning. The legendary actor first, started his career as an accountant, while later on switching to this side of the industry. His humor was always at par. Newhart also worked in the Army for two years during the Korean War and enrolled into a graduate law school.
Bob Newhart distinguished himself from his comedic peers with a contemporary perspective and a unique, observational style. As a stand-up comedian, whenever he went onto the stage, the man held only a “telephone” as his prop, pretending to having a conversation with someone on the other side.
Newhart, who thrived in front of an audience, never fully retired and continued to be a prominent presence on Hollywood sets and stages well into his 80s.
Several American stars and film maker’s mourned the legend’s death at 94. Comedy film director Judd Apatow paid his tribute on X (formerly twitter). He tweeted, “Bob Newhart made the world a better place for a really long time”. Apart from him, actress Kaley Cuoco, also wrote on social media, “What a dream it was to witness the genius that was Bob Newhart. He was classy, kind, generous and absolutely hilarious”.

Bob Newhart was nominated for the Emmy Awards several times. But, never really won any, until it was 2013 and he was awarded for his guest appearance in the highly-watched “The Big Bang Theory”.
