Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett have officially started filming Verity, the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The shoot began on February 27 in Queens, New York, with the actors spotted in character for the first time. Hathaway was seen in a long white dress with a keyhole neckline, carrying a book and wearing sunglasses, while Hartnett wore jeans and a sweater, holding a coffee cup.
Behind-the-scenes photos from the set have gone viral, giving fans their first glimpse of Hathaway as Verity Crawford and Hartnett as her husband, Jeremy. One set of images shows Hathaway in a second outfit – a navy blue suit paired with brown dress shoes – while Hartnett sports a navy sweater and copper-toned t-shirt. Another set features the two filming what appears to be a meet-cute scene where they step into a limo together.
Dakota Johnson, who plays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to finish Verity’s book series, was not spotted on set. However, her character’s storyline remains central to the psychological thriller. While excitement builds for Verity, it coincides with legal tensions surrounding Hoover’s previous adaptation, It Ends With Us. Director Justin Baldoni and actress Blake Lively are currently in a legal battle over alleged on-set misconduct, with a trial set for 2026. Despite the ongoing legal issues, Verity continues production with Michael Showalter taking the charge of direction. With Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett and Dakota Johnson leading the cast, fans are eager to see how this intense story unfolds on screen.
