Anubhav Sinha and Ajay Devgn, who worked together on the 2007 film Cash, have not spoken to each other in 18 years. While Anubhav Sinha has continued collaborating with other actors from the film, he and Ajay Devgn have not reconnected, leading to speculation about a possible fallout. However, the director recently clarified that they never had any disagreements, yet for reasons unknown, they haven’t been in touch.
Anubhav Sinha Opens Up About No Contact With Ajay Devgn Since ‘Cash’
In a conversation with Lallantop, Anubhav Sinha revealed that despite sending messages, Ajay Devgn has never responded. “We have never fought. He just doesn’t speak to me, and I have no idea why. Since the making of Cash, we haven’t even met for me to tell you he ignored me or something. So, maybe, it’s just me overthinking. However, I did text him a couple of times and never received a response, so I told myself that maybe it slipped his mind or he must have missed my message. But it’s been about 18 years since we have spoken,” he said.
No Disagreements on the Set
When asked if they ever had issues while filming Cash, Anubhav Sinha quickly denied any conflicts. He explained that any disagreements during the film’s production were between the producer and financier, and he was not involved in them. “We never had any disagreement between us. It was the producer and financier who had a disagreement. I was neither,” he stated. There were also rumors that Ajay Devgn wanted to feature in a song that was later removed from the film. Addressing this, Anubhav Sinha clarified, “There was no disagreement over any song, not that I know… This is not true.”

Anubhav Sinha Still Admires Ajay Devgn
Despite the long silence, Anubhav Sinha has great respect for Ajay Devgn. “Ajay was among my favorite actors. I loved him both as an actor and an individual. He is fun to be with. He is like ‘yaaron ka yaar’. Ajay is always the first one to be there for a friend in need,” he shared.
However, he admitted that his comments on social media might have contributed to the lack of communication. “In between, I did comment on people’s political views, so I must have told him something too. But he was not the only person I commented about. I have said things to various people, but I still maintain good relations with them all. I am his admirer, and I really respect him as an actor and individual,” he said.
Recalling Past Collaborations
In the same conversation, Anubhav Sinha also spoke about his early work, including the TV series Shikast, which featured actors like Ashutosh Rana, Naseeruddin Shah, and Manoj Bajpayee. He recalled how they all shared meals together and revealed that Manoj Bajpayee was not originally part of the script but was later included.
For now, it remains a mystery why Anubhav Sinha and Ajay Devgn have not spoken in nearly two decades. Whether it’s a simple case of lost communication or something more, only time will tell if the two will ever reconnect.
