A heartbreaking day for Indian cinema as legendary actor Dharmendra Ji passed away at the age of 89, leaving millions of fans mourning across the nation. The veteran actor who is fondly known as the ‘He-Man’ and ‘People’s Man’ took his last breath today on Monday morning, on November 24 at his Mumbai residence.
The news was confirmed by the sources close to IANS.
Earlier this month, he was admitted after experiencing breathlessness and was placed on a ventilator. He was later brought home, where his family continued to take care of him.
The End of an Era
In the widely shared clips online from the Vile Parle cremation, Hema Malini, Esha Deol and close family friends including Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan among others were seen arriving to offer their final respects. Visibly emotional, they joined others in honouring the veteran star for the one last time with dignity and heartfelt remembrance.

Throughout his career, Dharmendra Ji delivered countless memorable performances in films like Sholay, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dharam Veer, Chupke Chupke, Pratigya, Ankhen, Seeta Aur Geeta, Dillagi, Hathyar and many more. His unmatched versatility made him one of the most beloved stars in Indian cinema.
Even in his later years, he continued to win hearts through his performances in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. His upcoming film Ikkis will now serve as a posthumous reminder of his remarkable journey.
